Lieutenant Samuel Tebbs Forman

The Forman Family of Mason County, Kentucky, like the state, was divided by the Civil War.  Samuel Tebbs Forman was a lieutenant in the 4th Kentucky Mounted Rifles of the Confederate Army.  He was killed at the Battle of Shiloh.  His brothers, Corporal Thomas Forman and Captain Joseph T. Forman, were in the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry of the Union Army.  Their father, George L. Forman, was a Union soldier.  A cousin, Colonel James B. Forman, was in the 15th Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Infantry of the Union Army.
