Private Archie Wilkerson

Archie Wilkerson entered the Confederate Army on June 12, 1861 in Macon County, Alabama.  He was a private in Company F of the 12th Alabama Infantry Regiment.  There is one official reference to him as a corporal.  Archie Wilkerson was wounded on September 17, 1864.  He was captured by Sheridan's forces two days later during the Battle of Winchester.  On March 15, 1865, Archie Wilkerson was paroled at Point Lookout, Maryland, and he was transferred to Aiken's Landing, Virginia for exchange.
